Leduc #1 Energy Discovery Center

This 23,000 square foot museum was voted the 2013 Alberta Rural Tourism Champion award-winner for excellence in leadership, innovation, and accomplishments. It tells the story of oil drilling in the area through two hundred exhibits, a hands on lab, and a drill bit virtual ride. If you’re interested in learning the history of oil in the Leduc area, be sure to check out the Leduc #1 Energy Discovery Center. It’s sure to be a fascinating day.

The Doctor Woods House Museum

This museum showcases the former house of a local physician. It was built in 1927 and is decorated to look like it did originally. Volunteers who have a passion for the history of Leduc run tours and host a monthly tea. This is a great little place to visit to learn more about the 1920s in Leduc.

William F. Lede Park

If it’s a warm summer day, there’s no better place to spend it than William F. Lede Park. This is the most popular park in Leduc. It’s on the shore of Telford Lake, where many people canoe and kayak. This is also a great spot to go if you’re into bird watching. There are also lots of picnic spots and gardens. There’s plenty to do in William F. Lede Park for the whole family.

Old Strathcona

If you want to venture out of Leduc for the day, Edmonton is right around the corner. Edmonton is full of interesting sights, from museums to botanical gardens. But if you want to spend the day shopping and eating at great restaurants, Old Strathcona is the perfect place to head. Take the historic High Level Streetcar from downtown Edmonton, and spend the day marveling at the buildings that date back to 1891. You’re sure to find something interesting in this historic piece of Edmonton.
